YMMV / Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online

  • Adorkable:
    • The Drama CDs, but especially Blanc's.
      • Blanc starts out like the usual for the others, but hers end up to be possibly the most emotional Drama CDs of the ones Compile Heart has made. She asks why the Self Insert wants to be around her, listing off her bad personality traits, showing some self-esteem issues. When all they say is because she's cute, she's shocked, and asks again if she's really cute, when they immediately say yes, she is left in tears. It really goes to show that Blanc's appearance, as the game and the characters loves to poke fun at, really made her feel bad and that no one would ever love her for her self.
  • Genius Bonus: During one side event, Neptune sends Nepgear a vertical message, which inspires Nepgear to send Uni her own coded message. The message is coded in Vigenère cipher and gives an actual message after it's deciphered. Hint
  • Goddamned Bats: Mandragoras, plant-like enemies that hide underground until you come close, whereupon they jump out and explode. Somewhat mitigated by the fact that you can target them while they're still underground, the fact that you can kill them in the brief window of time between them popping out and them actually exploding, and the fact that the explosion is relatively small.
  • Heartwarming in Hindsight: Over Vert's constant desire for a little sister being granted. The Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles began Microsoft breaking the console into the powerful 4K Model X consoles, which represent Vert, and the smaller, entry-level Model S consoles... and who else would represent them but Bouquet? And the Xbox One S released around the same time as this game.
  • Les Yay: Look, would it be a Neptunia game without some at this point?
    • One scene involves Vert using the controls to put Blanc in a Bridal Carry. Blanc gets pretty upset, but Vert was sure darn happy about it.
    • Shortly after the CPU Candidates join the party, Uni starts getting ticked at how much Vert is clinging to Nepgear. Neptune interprets it as a love triangle, much to Uni's denial.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: For Noire fans, the fact that Erin Fitzgerald was unable to reprise her role for the game due to the voice actor strike is a sore spot. Sub-only fans couldn't care less and others are optimistic that Erica Mendez will be a suitable replacement, but it'll be a Tough Act to Follow in any case.
    • Fortunately, the strike ended on September 23, 2017, though Mendez remained as Noire's VA. But the possibility of Fitzgerald returning to voice Noire again in future games is present.
  • Unconventional Learning Experience: Vert's tea trivia interlude scenes can be surprisingly educational.
