YMMV / Cute Mario Bros

Go To

  • Accidental Innuendo: From "The First Movie".
Goku: Now that you're all hard and like... uh drippy, now you're vulnerable to my attacks!
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Santa showing up in "Meet the Koopalings".
  • Fandom Rivalry: With the fans of SuperMarioLogan. The fans of StacheBros and SuperMarioRichie may also be mentioned. However, the rivalry is more friendly than the one with SML, which has gotten rather nasty as of late.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Even a hilarious web show like this has some pretty scary moments.
    • In "Luigi's Bad Luck!" After accidentally spilling salt, Luigi goes to the freezer to get some corn dogs and he gets locked in by Jack for who knows how long. If Mario hadn't found him in the freezer, Luigi would've been frozen to death. Christ...
    • Wario's torture to Waluigi in "Meet the Wario Bros!". Sure it's funny when he makes him watch a fail compilation video. But he still did Mind Rape him into becoming evil. As evidenced by what they say before it happens.
Waluigi: I don't like being evil!
Wario: Don't you ever say that again. If you're not going to be evil, I'm gonna have to FORCE YOU TO BE EVIL! WA HA HA!
    • The Bros, Jack, Chain Chomp, and Peach getting killed by the villains in "Evil Prevails."
    • Luigi's nightmare in "Home Alone!". It starts off with him saying "Best night ever!", then the power goes out and he lights some candles with matches and starts singing to himself, then the candles go out. He runs upstairs to his room and locks himself in, then somehow, his bedroom door opens and we're treated to a shot of a Pylon creature with a sign that says "I've been waiting 4 you.", then it starts chasing Luigi around the house from a closet to the front door to a cornered wall and it holds up a sign saying "Go to sleep.", then it goes to static and leaves without letting us know what happened. Then at the end when Luigi tells Mario about this dream, it's revealed that the Pylon figure actually exists. It just reeks of Paranoia Fuel.
      • Not-so-fun fact: Ricky and Tyler actually filmed the candle scene in the dark, it's a relief that they're fine.
    • "Summer Fun 3" as a whole. We have Mario and Luigi going on a fishing trip, only for them to end up in a sea storm and on a Deserted Island with no help from anyone else except each other. They've been stuck there for 3 whole months, overtime, Mario starts to go insane and try to eat his own brother, Luigi. Thankfully, they made it back to the civilization and get a ride back home from Ricky and Tyler, but it still was pretty jarring to watch.
      • The alternate ending is arguably even worse, they make it back to civilization only to get a hitchhike with a different driver (looks like Jack) other than Ricky and Tyler. They go with him and drive off. Jack walks in the middle of the road watching them drive off, finishing off with a close up of him. And this was going to be the real ending to the episode.
    • Gonzo. Particularly in the Third Movie. He's taken much more seriously than any other villain on the show.
    • "The Alien Abduction," as the titular alien goes after Luigi similar to the aforementioned Pylon, and actually succeeds before throwing out Luigi.
      • Later on, Luigi, Jack, Kermit, and The Risk try to catch the alien on camera as Mario doesn’t believe it exists, and once the alien gets there, Kermit grabs Mario, and while the dancing it does is pretty hilarious, it disappears for a second before grabbing Mario and Luigi out of nowhere and taking them back to his ship. If not for some quick thinking (and a pair of scissors inside Luigi’s butt), the Bros would be screwed.
    • In "Luigi Loves Daisy," Daisy’s characterization is surprisingly accurate to that of an Abhorrent Admirer. While she starts off having a healthy relationship with Luigi, she starts getting very obsessed with him, and forced him to write another song for her, and when he didn’t, she responded by breaking his legs. thankfully, Mario’s terrible attempt at a song came in handy, as it caused her to jump out the window.
    • Taco Del Mar the elf from "The Elf On The Shelf." It randomly shows up on the Christmas tree while the Bros, Jack, and Kermit were watching the last Christmas episode, and Luigi said the elf would try to kill them just like the Pylon, the alien, and Daisy. Mario disregards it and tells Luigi to name the elf, which he names Taco Del Mar. Unfortunately, Luigi’s prediction couldn’t be more correct. The next morning when Mario wakes up, Taco moved by himself. Not only that, Mario wakes up Luigi and the two discover that Taco brutally murdered Kermit and The Risk. They throw Taco out the door, but he returns with a knife and kills Mario. Luigi tries to run away, but not only does he get cornered, he discovers that Taco turned Mario, Kermit, and Risk into elf-like zombies that speak in a Hive Mind type style. Thankfully, Luigi shoved Taco in the microwave and killed him, which brought back his friends.
      • However, Jack pulls out the elf at the end of the episode.
  • Tear Jerker: Yes, even this series can have moments that can make you cry:
    • Kermit's death in the Blue Terror.
    • The ending of Mario's Rock Band Part 3, where Luigi becomes cooler than everyone else and starts being more selfish and mean. Mario, fed up with Luigi's behavior, decides to leave (Bowser decides to leave too, but for his own reasons), but before doing so, he writes a goodbye letter for Luigi. He then ends up in the forest, looking back, before continuing to walk away. We then see Luigi, having gone back to his old self, looking out the window, saying Mario's name in a way that sounds like he's feeling remorse for his behavior.
    • Luigi, Jack and Bowser getting killed by Gonzo in the Third Movie. They get better. Thanks to Mario.
    • The entirety of "Mario’s Amnesia," particularly the "Forever Ago" song. If you have watched the older episodes, you will definitely tear up when Mario doesn’t remember any of the events from the original videos. Thankfully, at the end, Luigi restores his memory by showing him the entire series on YouTube.
    • The end of the series, enough said.
  • Wangst: Kermit wants to destroy the Mario Brothers in "The First Movie" after being called a loser by Mario, even going as far as gathering a select number of characters to help him defeat the duo. The same went for Gonzo in the "The Blue Terror" when he attacked the Bros. simply because they farted in his face.
