• Adaptation Displacement: Thanks to the English subtitled version that adds a few differences, people might be surprised that the Chinese version does not state this takes place in the Tang Dynasty and that the two leads are merely king and queen as opposed to Emperor and Empress.
• Best Known for the Fanservice: No actual nudity in the movie, but the corsets and cleavage on certain characters has led to this very wiki branding the film as two hours of Gainaxing.
• Fan Nickname: Curse of the Golden Corset.
• Just Here for Godzilla: The costumes are enough of a draw for the movie on their own.
• Narm: The revelation scene cited in Squick. Goddammit, the audience REALLY can't blame Chan for having an Heroic BSoD, but there's no need to see her run around while her boobs jiggle all over the place.
• Nightmare Fuel: During the final battle, Jai's soldiers screaming as they're crushed under the Emperor's soldiers' massive mobile wall. Even more so when you realize a certain Shout-Out...
• Rooting for the Empire: Very possible as the Emperor is just that much of a Magnificent Bastard.
• Subbing Versus Dubbing: The English dub featured a certain title card motif being read aloud rather than subbed.
• Squick: It's unfortunately revealed that Wan and Chan are actually half-brother and sister. The latter is especially horrified.
