• Alternative Character Interpretation: Stacey. Is she actually a raging bigot, or is she pretending to be one to prejudice the detectives against her? The latter would make Taking the Heat easier, and she sure seems to get into it quickly for someone facing life in prison.
• Complete Monster: Spain's "Carmen": Carmen's unnamed father is a vile excuse of a neglectful parent who subjects Carmen and her younger autistic sister to beatings if Carmen doesn't do what he wants. Carmen's father was also raping her, resulting in Carmen killing her younger sister upon learning her father's desires to rape the latter.
• Memetic Mutation: After Kit Harrington's episode, a lot of people began saying things like "Put the furniture back!" in Youtube comments, even if the video was not of the scene. (In the show, it represents how the investigation just ruined the character's life irreparably.)
