YMMV / Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure

Go To

  • Event-Obscuring Camera: The camera is zoomed in on Crash, which can lead to Fake Difficulty by preventing the player from seeing where they are supposed to go next. This also leads to problems after obtaining the Turbo Run, as Crash's increased speed means enemies spawn before the player can react to them.
  • It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: Of all games in the series, this is the one that suffers from it the most, even compared to Wrath of Cortex and Nitro Kart, and is probably the biggest complaint most people have with this game (with the second most common complaint being how the game is rife with Fake Difficulty). It heavily abuses Cut and Paste Environments, has an entirely Recycled Soundtrack, reuses the same warp room design from Warped, and many of the gameplay mechanics closely copy that of Warped such as the gem system, the Time Trial relics, and the Bag of Spilling.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The Shrink Ray scheme by Cortex involves shrinking not just the heroes, but the entire planet around them. Meaning....nothing about the world Crash plays is any different from previous titles. Oddly enough even the trips to Cortex's normal sized space station have Crash and Aku Aku unshrunk somehow, instead of utilising the potential for novelty giant sized worlds and obstacles to give the game a more original theme. The only time being shrunk compared to your surroundings is a factor is the Cortex boss battle, and the moment it happens, you lose a life.
