  • Abandon Shipping: Many fans shipped Isabela/Alex due to their Les Yay moment at the NONA party and to Pair the Spares (as Isabela was involved with her ex Pablo and Alex was involved in a forbidden romance with her teacher Gabriela). However, this ship rapidly decreased in popularity after Isabela was Put on a Bus due to her actress being cast for another series.
  • Actor Shipping: Some fans naturally ship the real life couple Macarena Garcia and Yankel Stevan (Natalia and Raul respectively) calling them Makel to the point to ship their characters at extent.
  • Alas, Poor Scrappy: Despite his poor decision-making as principal of the school, fans felt bad for Quintanilla when the Avenger attacked him with a swarm of bees and got laughed at by the students (at his own farewell party). This culminates with a harsh but justified "The Reason You Suck" Speech.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Does Rosita really care about her friends of the popular clique or is she just using them as an excuse to entertain herself when it comes to partying a lot?
    • Is Susana really wanting to ensure the students' safety with the controversial measures she implemented on her first day as a principal to stop the avenger or is she just playing the bad cop to try and intimidate them into confessing who is the perpetrator that has been wreaking havoc? Or is it both?
  • Base-Breaking Character:
    • Sofía. While she gets a lof of sympathy due to her Dark and Troubled Past which she masks under an aloof personality and how observant and smart she is, however, Sofía is also heavily criticized for completely letting her guard down around Raúl that she didn't even suspect him to be the hacker. She is also emotionally disaffected and unempathetic to those around her. She overreacts upon finding out that Javier has a crush on Natalia, acting like if he cheated on her when by that time they weren't even together yet.
    • Javier is no better either. Either is he a Nice Guy who is always trying to do the right thing or just a whiny self-righteous petulant kid.
    • Claudia was adored by the fans for her closeness and support of María, but in the third season was immensely hated for unreasonably acting like a bitch who's trying to save her own skin and not giving (initially) a rat's ass about Sofía and Raúl's safety when Gerry tries to warn the group.
  • Catharsis Factor: After his cruel behavior in the second season, Pablo getting knocked out by Gerry when he's once again beating up Raúl non-stop is very satisfying to see.
  • Designated Hero:
    • The entire group (except for maybe Gerry and Natalia), and Javier's father to some extent, by the beginning of Season 3 after Susana's accidental murder. He hired some people to hide the body inside the widow's home to disguise it as a suicide, while the rest of the group made a pact to keep their involvement a secret and never bring up the topic again, allowing them to get off scot-free for a while.
    • Sofía eventually becomes this in season 3, not only helping the group cover up Susana's death, but also she defends and stays with Raul despite being fully aware of his crimes as the hacker.
  • Draco in Leather Pants:
    • Many female fans will keep forgetting about the fact that Pablo is such an unpleasant despicable jerkass, probably because he's portrayed by the handsome Andrés Baida. It's also helped by his muscular figure.
    • Raul also gained a lot of defenders because of how his friends were just using him because of his money and do not actually care about him as a person, so it's no wonder why he started this hacker machination in the first place to be with Sofia, who grew resentful of people living a lie and keeping things from each other.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Lulu is loved by fans for being a hilarious comic relief.
    • Rosita is also well-liked for her Deadpan Snarker personality and more-often-than-not bickerings with her longtime Sitcom Archnemesis Natalia. Even though she was most of the time Out of Focus.
  • Evil Is Cool: For a high number of fans, Raul is interesting for his dark schemes and as the hacker.
  • Foe Yay Shipping: Natalia being a Deadpan Snarker is shipped to different levels with some of the others characters like Sofia (due to their rivalry concerning Javier and just the fact they're totally different), Rosita (her contender for the Student President position and for their Volleying Insults tendencies) and Raul (due to their chemistry as their actors dating in real life and in-universe kind of Belligerent Sexual Tension).
  • Friendly Fandoms: With Elite (2018), mostly due to the similarities between storylines, themes and characters between both. The fact they're both Hispanic (Elite being Spanish and Control Z being Mexican) Netflix teen shows helped.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • The fight between Gerry and Luis becomes even much harder to watch when you watch Gerry imagining Bernardo as Luis beating him up when the inmates violently attack him after learning that he is gay.
    • Natalia telling Lulu that her parents will probably make her and María move away becomes this in season 3 when you realize that, after they do move away, María could not move on from the traumatic experience of Susana being murdered, eventually causing her to kill herself.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • Natalia and Javier's blossoming relationship.
    • Gerry leaving behind his dog tags in Luis' tomb as a way to apologize to him for hurting him before.
    • The touching reunion between Natalia and the ghost of her sister María when the former dives in a bathtub.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • This show is often compared with Gossip Girl (2007), due to both of them having a concept of a hacker exposing the secrets of high school students. Zión Moreno, who plays Isabela, would later go on to star in the reboot of the series. Luckily this time, neither is she forcibly outed nor does anyone give her a hard time for her gender.
    • The way Gerry's secret of being gay is revealed becomes this when in the second season Natalia finds out that he's been harbored from the police by Raúl for murdering Luis, sarcastically asking him if he's already out of the closet.
    • A popular girl and a bully named Regina, portrayed by Ariana Saavedra, on the series is very reminiscent of the titular character of the same name in Mean Girls, but she's not the hacker. Even the actors on-set teasingly nicknamed her "Regina George".
  • Ho Yay: Gerry and Raúl in Season 2 when the former kisses him, after Gerry's admitted he likes men.
    • Les Yay: Isabela and Alex attending the NONA party and dancing together.
      • Though the general antagonism between them, Natalia and Rosita aren't against giving each other affectionate names like "baby".
      • Also between Maria and Claudia in Season as they have a Pseudo-Romantic Friendship leading Maria to kiss her.
  • It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: The second season entirely followed the previous dynamic of its predecessor when it came to the whodunnit stuff. The ending was even quite predictable.
  • Jerkass Woobie:
    • Gerry is a cruel and heartless Jerkass who bullies Luis on a daily basis but whose life is miserable due to having an abusive homophobic father, which causes him to verbally attack homosexuality and not embrace that he's attracted to men, not to mention the tragic backstory that came with this in Season 2. He and Luis were originally friends but based on a comment made by his father about said friendship, it rapidly dissipated.
    • Natalia, in season 3, ends up becoming one after the death of María. Watching her struggle with her being long gone and demanding answers from the group over their involvement in Susana's murder is really not fun to watch.
  • Jerks Are Worse Than Villains:
  • Moral Event Horizon: Pablo crosses it in the first season finale when he attempts to rape Isabela during the NONA party, in a last futile attempt to get back with her.
    • Gerry himself also does worse in the fight set up by the hacker in which he ends up murdering Luis.
  • Narm: Claudia and Pablo's reactions after learning about María's death. They're not convincingly taken seriously, especially given how Pablo treated her before.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Any hate that was aimed at Gerry for his detestable personality and brutal murder of the innocent Luis was completely shed as of the second season as he genuinely regretted that his actions got him killed, thus gaining a lot of fans thanks to both embracing his attraction to men and his taking a level in kindness. He even becomes the Only Sane Man in the third season and has a fresh start. However, some disagreed with Luis' mother's decision to adopt him and let him sleep in Luis' bedroom. Exactly. The bedroom of the very same person who fell in love with Gerry and got murdered by his former tormentor. While Gerry is Easily Forgiven by almost everyone and forget everything he did before, the fans, on the other hand, do not easily forget.
  • Seasonal Rot: The third and final season received a lot of backlash from fans due to its increased focus on the whodunnit thing and its lack of emotional weight. Even some controversial decisions such as the platonic friendship between Pablo and Claudia and the ending that saw Sofía, who finally started a relationship with Javier only for her to dump him mid-season, still getting together with Raúl, received some criticism.
  • The Scrappy: Pablo is loathed by the whole fandom for how he dumped Isabela by pretending he didn't know she was trans and how he almost attempted to sexually assault her at the end of the first season. Said hatred is increased in the second season over his poor treatment of María (who got pregnant and wanted to abort the baby, but Pablo continued insisting that she keep it despite him initially not being interested in supporting her), beating up Raúl for ruining his life and jealously attacking Claudia for her closeness to María. Even after his Heel–Face Turn, it's still very hard to root for him, especially given his previous cruel actions. Even the good relationship he has with his mother, which is supposed to be one of his few redeemable traits, and her backstory mentioned in season 2 about how she got pregnant at a young age (like Maria) but refused to abort per Pablo's grandmother's demands wasn't enough for fans to sympathize with him.
  • Ships That Pass in the Night: Despite it's close to be a Vocal Minority and their lack of interactions, some fans ship Javier/Natalia because Javier comforts her in the pilot. They become canon in Season 2 though.
  • Ship-to-Ship Combat: As the main Love Triangle, the fandom is split between Sofia/Javier and Sofia/Raul. Sofia/Javier fans point out the other ship is toxic while Sofia/Raul fans finds Sofia and Javier lack chemistry.
  • So Okay, It's Average: What most of the fans think about the show overall, especially due to its mixture to past shows like Pretty Little Liars and Elite (2018). This is also reflected on IMDB's overall rating scores.
  • Strawman Has a Point:
    • Raúl, clearly desperate to keep fending for himself and in state of anxiousness over the Avenger (who turns out to be Alex), was right that his large sums of money which 1. were left behind by his parents after they attempted to flee the country over their corruption and 2. were stolen from him out of a selfish purpose, shouldn't have been used to help save Natalia from the loan sharks who kidnapped and threatened to kill her if the demands weren't met. While it's true that he too had done some damage in the past as the hacker, it was pretty unreasonable for the rest of his former friends to view him as selfish, conceited and obsessed with staying rich. Not to mention that Natalia's kidnap was entirely her own fault for contacting the thugs in the first place and the heated fight over the money bag that results in the death of the principal Susana. In short, had Alex not stolen Raúl's money, this whole conflict could have been avoided.
    • While it still doesn't excuse his toxic male behavior, Pablo had every right to be paranoid about María almost killing her baby (even though she already aborted it) by taking a sip of the vodka bottle (which unbeknowst to everyone was poisoned by the Avenger, but unfortunately a trap she fell for), only for her and Claudia to dismiss him thinking he's just annoying them. It must be taken into account that when a teenage girl gets pregnant, they must act responsibly about it. So, if this happened in real life, Pablo would be absolutely correct.
    • Sofía was also right to tell Rosita that she should've cancelled her birthday party, because it was the Avenger's chance to target the next student supposedly responsible for Luis' death. But Rosita brushed off her warnings, even calling Sofia "selfish" for trying to ruin her night and everybody else's.
    • Gerry telling Quintanilla he's doing a bad job as a principal when it comes to handling the situation with the hacker, but Quintanilla always comes up with the excuse that he's "working on it", and has the gall to sideline Sofia, whom he accuses of seeking attention just because she can't handle his relationship with Sofia's mother, when she is actually the one trying to seriously do something about it while Quintanilla is all-talk.
  • Take That, Scrappy!: Quintanilla's rant at the students for not taking him seriously as principal of the school and how hard he tried to make things get better, also stating that because of their mean-spirited attitudes he thinks they deserve all the pain the Avenger is inflicting on their wake. And Quintanilla is ironically a scrappy himself.
  • They Copied It, So It Sucks!: Some fans complained that the third season was a Latin rehash to I Know What You Did Last Summer.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
    • We're supposed to sympathize with Luis as he is constantly bullied by Gerry, but we only have the three first episodes to witness the same routine to the point when the hacker worsens everything through the public fight that results in Luis getting hospitalized and remains there for the remainder of the first season...until his tragic death. Even if Gerry's backstory revealed how this situation came about in the first place, it would've been a perfect move for the writers to further delve deeper into Luis's own backstory.
    • Helena, Sofía's half-sister, who only appears revealing herself to be a daughter of her father before tossing her away and that's it. Some fans felt that she should've been given more relevance by trying to bond with Sofía and team up with her to take the hacker down.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
    • In the second season, it would've been interesting to see Sofía defending her father who got arrested for faking his own death. It didn't help a lot that she only visited him in prison to talk about the situation and dig into Luis' violent fantasies caused by the avenger. Then, in the third season, when the time finally comes for Sofía's father to be released but the lawyer suddenly postpones the hearing, we find out about Sofía's half-sister, who simply brushes her off and calls her out for her father's current situation rather than try and bond with her or even team up with her to put an end to _@allyoursecrets_.
    • María's death at the beginning of the third season would've been the perfect opportunity to bring Isabela back. However, this never came to be.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: Gerry started becoming this in Season 2 as he feels genuinely remorseful over his mistreatment and murder of Luis to the point of deciding that enough is enough by turning himself in rather than remaining a Dirty Coward. Even the backstory behind his aggressive behaviour resulted in an impressive character development arc that made fans feel sorry for Gerry.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic:
    • Rosita threw a birthday party at her house, ignoring Sofía's warnings to call it off because that's where the avenger would attack next. Since the perpetrator tampered with a vodka bottle, Sofía's attempts to save the day were misinterpreted by Rosita as excuses of wanting to ruin everyone's night. Also, Rosita showed no concern for María's wellbeing, only telling her that if she needed to throw up she could use the bathroom. It doesn't help that she rushes over to María alongside the others just after she overdoses and remain indifferent over someone's wellbeing is not what should be expected from a friend, let alone the kind who has lots of fun. In short, she should've taken Sofía's advice.
    • Maria, Claudia and Javier can be considered this at the end of season 2 for not giving Raúl his money back and instead using it to save Natalia from the drug dealers, as that was his last hope of fending for himself after his parents were arrested on account of their corruption.
    • Most of the main characters (partially save for Javier) in the seventh episode of the third season were hit pretty harshly with this as they completely turned on Sofía, who literally was forced by a hacker other than Raúl to leak new secrets of her friends and ignored the fact that Raúl's life was endangered, which led poor Sofía to go by herself and end up getting captured alongside Raúl and they even have the nerve to call her "a traitor" after everything she's done for them and the entire crap she went through for the past two years. Who are the traitors here now, huh? And they're still like that at the beginning of the eighth episode when Gerry tries convincing them otherwise that Sofía and Raúl might be in danger and criticizes them because they clearly learned nothing from their previous mistakes. And this is reinforced when Claudia, who is the worse out of the entire group, coldly shoots down Natalia's suggestion to call the police. Seriously guys, why won't you just give Sofía a break instead of trying to save your own asses?
  • The Un-Twist: Was anyone surprised to learn that Alex was the infamous avenger? Or Bruno being the mastermind behind _@allyoursecrets_?
  • Why Would Anyone Take Him Back?: Many of the fanbase felt that Claudia's friendship with Pablo was very rushed even after how mean he was to her just because of her closeness to María.
    • Sofía was demonized by her friends for exposing their secrets, when she clearly did this under threat to keep a secret their involvement in Susana's death, and even refuse to believe that Raúl was in danger when he falsely confessed to being the hacker, then she is also captured and yet Sofía forgives them very quickly and keeps on hanging out with them. Good actual friends wouldn't do things like that.
  • The Woobie:
    • Sofia, who's suffered great trauma due to losing her father and finding out he faked it ends up driving her suicidal.
    • Isabela is treated terribly after she's outed as transgender.
    • Luis gets cruelly bullied as he's a quiet and vulnerable boy.
    • María is clearly this: she was sleeping with her best friend Isabela's ex-boyfriend, Pablo, and Isabela ended the friendship after finding out (although her guilt for doing that was crystal clear), she was ditched by Pablo after breaking the news of her surprise pregnancy, only for Pablo to keep on insisting that she give him a chance and smothering her. On top of that, her sister was kidnapped and almost killed over large sums of money, ultimately leading to a huge fight that resulted in her being responsible for Susana's murder. Because of this, María was traumatized and killed herself. So, she is a very sad character to watch.
