YMMV / Command And Conquer Generals Contra

Go To

  • Game-Breaker: It's safe to say that at EVERY general has at least one game-breaking unit or structure within the mod.
    • General Malcolm "Ace" Granger, Airforce General
      • Levitation Pads. They are superior versions of the Airfields used by the rest of the US army's generals that take up less space than them, allow all aircraft to take off simultaneously, and allow an extra plane to be produced. This can lead to a surpisingly broken combination of being able to construct a mass of anti-building bombers that can literally let the player finish their opponents in minutes.
    • General Alexis Alexander, Superweapon General
      • The Tomahawk Storm. It's a relatively cheap Superweapon that deals a respectable amount of damage. This isn't what makes it overpowered, though, as what makes it a true nightmare are the fact that it's available from the very start, without any need to reach a 5-star rank like the other superweapons. This, combined with how they don't take up that much space, makes Alexis Alexander laughably overpowered.
    • General Tsing Shi Tao, Nuke General
      • The Nuke Tank Hunter. They're an upgraded version of the regular tank hunters that wield nuclear missiles instead of regular ones, which are effective against BOTH armor units and infantry alike, and on top of already dealing high damage, their nukes leave behind harmful patches of radiation as well.
    • General Fai, Infantry General
      • The Sniper units. They're essentially versions of America's Pathfinders without any of their weaknesses, as they shoot at vehicles and structures with explosive bullets and also benefit from China's signature horde bonuses, all while retaining the stealth and long range of their American counterparts. The only "downside" they have is their "slow" rate of fire, which is rendered meaningless by the fact that a sufficent number of them will destroy just about anything in a literal second.
    • Prince Kassad, Stealth General
      • His version of Jarmen Kell is PERMANENTLY stealthed no matter what, even when he's firing or using an ability. This can lead to him singlehandedly steamrolling an entire force of infantry without that much effort as long as there aren't any stealth detecting units.
      • Stealth Terrorists. They're broken for similar reasons to Kassad's Jarmen Kell, but only due to how Terrorists work. They keep the exact same anti-building, anti-vehicle power they have with the advantage of being "technically" permanently stealthed, as it is possible to get themselves to de-stealth when they attack, but you're more than likely to do it on accident, as they only reveal themselves at the very last second before they explode.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The model used for the Barracks for Algrin "A.I." Ironhand, the Cyborg general. It contains a bunch of skinned, still bleeding corpses that are dripping with blood.
    • Ironhand in general counts as this, as rather than the portraits of the other generals, which have them looking heroic or otherwise like a figure of great authority, his portrait has him ominously staring at the camera in a way that makes it look like he's eyeing you up. There's also the fact that his cyborg infantry come from homeless or and unemployed american citizens which are stated to not have chosen to become a cyborg of their own free will. Imagine being a homeless person, just trying to survive to the next day and absolutely looking for food, water, and shelter above everything else, only to be captured by mysterious people and taken to a scary, unknown place where you're violently mutilated and then turned into a cyborg, losing all of your former identity and memories in the process.
