• Protagonist Title Fallacy: The protagonist in Humpty Dumpty is his son, Humpty Dumpty, Jr. The short takes place after Humpty Dumpty's fall which is pointed out by his son and his wife in the beginning.
• Values Dissonance: The stereotypically drawn African characters from Little Black Sambo. Not helping is Sambo's mother warning him to watch out for the tiger who likes "dark meat".
• Visual Effects of Awesome: Several of the shorts, such as Don Quixote and The Headless Horseman feature a custom made Multiplane Camera apparatus constructed by Ub himself (notably predating Disney's own multiplane camera). The effect gives a very convincing illusion of depth, and are standout scenes in the cartoons.
