Anvilicious: The CTA red banners that only lack an actual swastika, to remind the audience that the Redhats are literally Nazis.
Nightmare Fuel: The death rays. When they fire at something, there is no red beam of warning. The gun just goes off and half a second later, its target just explodes into a fine red mist that leaves behind a very messy spray of blood on the nearest surface.
Spiritual Adaptation: Colony is the closest thing so far to Half-Life 2 adapted as a TV series.
They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Phyllis, Will's boss at Homeland Security. She was a sympathetic member of Homeland and she had just blackmailed Katie into working for her. So obviously this ended with her and her husband being assassinated by Broussard after Katie pointed her out on security cameras.

Hilarious in Hindsight: Gwent referring to journalists as "twittering arsewits" is this when you consider Twitter would come seven years after the book was published.

Awesome Music: The game's soundtrack is created using a dynamic system that plays certain loops and themes depending on the in-game situation, growing more intense as the battle escalates. David Orr, who also did the music for Sonny and Castle Crashers, has both a video of most of these loops as well as an example of the soundtrack as it might play in-game.
