YMMV / Codename Kids Next Door S 6 E 13 Operation TREATY

Go To

  • Epileptic Trees: This is the only appearance of Minor Major Character The Steve, leader of the teenagers. He's been quite the subject of speculation throughout the years, the most commonly-held theory being that he was a former KND operative — more specifically, former Soopreme Leaduh Numbuh 100 (Chad's predecessor), an idea drawn from his hair color, his leadership qualities (judging but the fact that, despite his quirks, he does lead the teens), and the fact that he would be around the same age that Numbuh 100 would be in the present day.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: The fact that Nigel was chosen as the ambassador for the Galactic Kids Next Door instead of Chad seems less like an excuse for the latter to hate the former even more, and much more of a case of Pragmatic Villainy come the GKND teaser. In that teaser, Numbuh 1 is ultimately willing to destroy the entire Earth simply because there's too many adults, as a terrified Chad is downright begging him not to do it. If the roles were reversed, you can tell that Chad would never have been able to go through with the decision, hence the reason Numbuh Infinity chooses Nigel instead.
  • Ho Yay: Chad and Nigel. Oh dear God, Chad and Nigel. The whole Chained Heat situation just reeks of Belligerent Sexual Tension, as the two act like two exes that are forced to work together. From a young Nigel's clear admiration of the heroic and dashing Numbuh 274 to Chad using Numbuh 1's ex's nickname for him, you'll be forgiven for thinking that they were a couple in the past. Their interactions honestly border on Foe Romance Subtext at certain points.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Numbuh 48 Flavors crosses it when he tries to kill everyone on the Gihugeacarrier for constantly eating his ice cream.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Cree is barely in this episode, in spite of being a major teen villain as well as being at odds with Numbuh 5 over her choice to betray the KND. Learning her thoughts about the Treaty, even if it was fake, as well as the possibility of no longer having to fight her sister, would have been interesting.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Despite learning that Chad is a Fake Defector and being allowed to remain a KND Operative after turning 13, Numbuh 1's thoughts on the latter were never revealed, not even in the Grand Finale.
