YMMV / Code of Silence

  • Aluminium Christmas Trees: The Prowler was an actual robot built in The '80s, though designed as an autonomous Sentry Gun rather than an aid to law enforcement, hence its excessive armament.
  • Funny Moments: The entire scene of two dumb stick-up men robbing a cop bar.
    • Even the opening moments, of one guy trying out different sunglasses to see which makes him more intimidating, to the pair arguing over what drink the decoy is going to order at the bar, is hilarious.
    • It gets funnier watching the entire bar of off-duty cops spotting them the moment each of crooks walk in, to the sudden display of every cop's gun getting shoved into each crook's face.
    • By the time Cusack shows up, the pair of would-be robbers are bickering with each other as the off-duty cops hold them down waiting for whichever of them have to clock back in and then take the pair to jail. Cusack can only smirk and shake his head at the idiots.
Dorato: I swear they get dumber by the year.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Some viewers will probably recognize Ralph Foody, who plays Cragie, as Johnny the Gangster in the first two Home Alone movies. The sales rep for the police robot is John Mahoney who will later star in Frasier.
  • Values Resonance: This is one of the earliest movies to address the police closing ranks to protect one of their own over the killing of unarmed suspects (although in the movie, part of the issue is that they believe the accusation is untrue).
