YMMV / Clazziquai Project

  • Epic Riff:
    • People can immediately recognize "She Is" at live performances just by its opening keyboard riff.
    • "Last Tango" has some beautiful accordion.
  • Heartwarming Moments: The Gratuitous English in "She Is" has Alex singing "She's the girl, she's the one".
  • Most Wonderful Sound: The cat meow at the end of "Cat Bossa".
  • Nightmare Fuel: "Flea", which manages to make innocent small insects sound terrifying ("we squeeze in the skin / edit your brain") against one of their most abrasive (relatively speaking) beats. The accompanying music video also qualifies. It starts innocently with two guys playing the DJ Max Clazziquai game on PSP, but then it all goes downhill from there. White horned demons terrorize the video, Horan suddenly becomes Medusa, and a blindfolded Alex removes his blindfold and has this face turn into a demon's. The final shot of the video is of Horan completely flanked by a crowd of white demons.
  • Signature Song: "She Is" seems to be this, considering through My Lovely Samsoon it is one of the band's most popular songs, and people at live performances can recognize it from the opening riffs alone.
  • Sweet Dreams Fuel:
    • If you found "Novabossa" to be too sad, there's "Cat Bossa", an upbeat take on the song with much bubblier instrumentals and vocals from Horan. Also, half of the lyrics are just "la la la"'s. And it ends with the sound of a cat meowing.
    • "She Is" is everything a love song should be — catchy, awesome, and sweet as all hell.
    • "Prayers". Horan's singing is absolutely beautiful against the lush instrumentation, and she's singing about cleansing your soul and being at peace and equilibrium with yourself.
    • Their more ballad-y music can fall under this; it's beautiful enough to be SDF and emotional and resonant enough to be a Tear Jerker.
