- Ass Pull: Harry's van flying in the ending, if one doesn't know about the Word of God of what it really means.
- Cult Classic: Because the film leans more toward a character study of a disturbed individual than a Slasher Movie with a killer dressed as Santa Claus, the film has amassed a small following.
- Heartwarming Moment: The kids trying to protect Harry from their parents.
- Nightmare Fuel: Harry's vow to bring bad children "something horrible". It's followed by a long pause and then him laughing so it looks like he's joking, but still, it makes one wonder: what was he thinking of that could have possibly been so horrible?
- Squick: The close-up of one of the hecklers being stabbed in the eye, which comes complete with a brief shot of pus spewing out the wound before blood does.
- Tear Jerker: Harry's death.
- The Woobie: It's really difficult not to feel bad for Harry, even after he goes off the deep end.
