- Draco in Leather Pants: Danny and to a lesser extent Diligence.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: Skulker and Diligence. Originally, Diligence was going to be a Monster of the Week but the writer liked him too much.
- Ho Yay: Of both varieties. Dora and Spectra are hinted very strongly to be lovers and Ember and a Masters forebear are.
- Nightmare Fuel: Danny while under Nocturne's control.
- Shipping: People generally want to see Sam and Skulker together. And Danny and Writer to a somewhat lesser degree.
- Squick: The general reaction to Phantom's origin story, which many compared to an abortion. Yikes.
