• Harsher in Hindsight
  • When Penny finds out she'll die at some point in the 90s, she says "won't make it to the next millennium". It turns out Prue won't see much of the new millennium either - as she dies at the end of Season 3, which is the middle of 2001.
  • A big focus is placed on Phoebe and how she got the shortest stick in terms of the time she got to spend with their mother because she is the youngest. In season 4 it is revealed that Phoebe is not actually the youngest, and Paige got an even worse deal with Patty.^note She never knew Patty in life either, but she was adopted by a couple that genuinely loved her until they died in her teen years, so she did grow up with a mother, just not her biological mother.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • The sisters themselves are the Kid from the Future in this episode. Come Seasons 6 and 7, they'll be on the other end when their own descendants have to visit them.
  • Patty's statement that she couldn't have any more children after Piper becomes this when Season 4 reveals that she had a secret fourth child.
• Les Yay: Present during Phoebe's first meeting with Patty. The viewer knows that it's a daughter getting to see her mother for the first time. Then remember that Patty must be wondering if this strange woman is hitting on her.
• Special Effects Failure: While the effects on the show were never great, the shot of the girls being magically removed from the manor is infamous for looking particularly bad.
• The Woobie: Phoebe is one especially in this episode. She finally gets to meet her mother for the first time - and so desperately wants to prevent her inevitable death. But she eventually sees reason and realises she has to let history take its natural course. Even when the sisters face being stuck in the past, Phoebe says it'll give them a chance to have more time with Patty.
