YMMV / Celtic Woman

Go To

  • Awesome Music: Any, if not all of their songs.
  • Americans Love Celtic Woman: While they're considered nothing particularly special in Ireland itself - Ireland, after all, already has world-renowned Anúna - they are huge in the USA and Australia. They even sang a song called "O America!"
  • Broken Base: There are three camps of Celtic Woman fans - those who listen to the group because of Hayley Westenra, those who think the group was ruined when Órla and/or Méav left, and those who just want to listen to pretty Irish music, damnit. The groups don't really get along.
  • Moe:
    • Máiréad Nesbitt to most fans, being a cute fairy-like lady who's an absolute pro at the violin.
    • Orla Fallon, Lisa Kelly...heck, basically every single member past and present could qualify!
  • Second Verse Curse: The second verse for "The Sky and the Dawn and the Sun", a signature opening number for concerts, was omitted from the recorded version on A New Journey.
  • Signature Song: Each of the women has a song or two they're particularly identified with.
    • Chloë: "Ave Maria", "When You Believe", "Panis Angelicus"...
    • Lisa Kelly: "Send Me a Song", "The Moon's a Harsh Mistress"
    • Méav: "Dulaman", "I Dreamt I Dwelt In Marble Halls"
    • Órla: "Carrickfergus", "Isle of Inisfree", "Harry's Game"
    • Lynn: "My Lagan Love", "Carolina Rua"
    • Alex: "You'll Be In My Heart", "My Heart Was Home Again"
    • Lisa Lambe: "A Spaceman Came Traveling"
  • Tear Jerker:
I wrote you a letter everyday but the garden of eden took my love away...
