YMMV / Caso Cerrado

Go To

  • Americans Hate Tingle: Brazil broadcasted the show and it only lasted three months. The reason assumed is that, while the country is no stranger to a Point-and-Laugh Show, the subjects of Caso Cerrado went too far (the network who broadcast it, SBT, tried to get the least contentious episodes possible, and aside from the first one - featuring both a sterile man who tried to get his dead brother's sperm to impregnate his wife and a case of teen pregnancy - it still wound up with things such as incest, rape, necrophilia, and a woman who masturbated at work!).
  • Memetic Mutation: Ana María Polo's signature "Caso Cerrado!".
  • Moral Event Horizon: One case involved two boys assaulting the plaintiff’s grandmother and then uploading the act to YouTube. This would’ve been bad enough, but the real kicker came when one of them, the defendant’s son, was brought to the show; when reviewing the footage, he laughed! No wonder why Polo gave him "The Reason You Suck" Speech, followed by being ordered to work for the staff to pay $50,000...
  • Padding: Episodes that contain dance numbers, musical numbers, or some type of act.
  • Values Dissonance:
    • Ana Maria Polo uses terms like "gordo" ("fatty") towards people. This type of language is common in Spanish but comes off as rude in many other languages.
    • In early episodes, trans women were misgendered and referred to as crossdressers, even though Ana Maria Polo was sympathetic towards them.
