YMMV / Cascada

Go To

  • Covered Up:
    • Everyone seems to remember that "Every Time We Touch" is a cover, but not many know the original. It was by former Mike Oldfield collaborator Maggie Reilly. And "Faded" was originally an even more obscure song by Australian singer Kate De Araugo.
    • "What Hurts The Most" is an aversion. Rascal Flatts' version was the biggest hit in the US, but Cascada's was the bigger hit everywhere else.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The group is more popular in the US, UK, and maybe Asia, than in their native Germany.
  • I Am Not Shazam: Natalie Horler is sometimes misidentified as Cascada.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • Pick a fandom from the mid to late 2000s, any fandom from the mid to late 2000s. Chances are, that fandom has at least one Shipping Fan Vid set to "Everytime We Touch" somewhere on YouTube, and indeed, there may be multiple FanVids featuring that song in a single fandom. Possibly a Discredited Meme now, though.
    • "Miracle" was big in 2006 and YTMND for being associated with the "Gravity Cat Not Amused" meme.
  • Misattributed Song: Mainly songs remixed by the same DJs to sound like Cascada but aren't actually done by them.
  • Suspiciously Similar Song: A lot of people noticed that their entry in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, "Glorious," sounded a lot like last year's winning song, "Euphoria," from Swedish singer Loreen.
