YMMV / Carnivores Far North

Go To

  • Fanon: Like Triassic and Mandibles (2017) before it, despite being a fan-made modification and unrecognized by the official series' developers, Carnivores: Far North has earned enormous popularity in the Carnivores modding community, being considered by many a true sequel to the original trilogy. Especially considering that Carnivores: Ice Age has a disappointing roster of Cenozoic animals (even more so before the mobile port added several new species), this mod is considered a very big improvement.
  • Memetic Mutation: Plenty of the animals in this game are humorously referred to as Internet slang words. As just 2 standout examples, the Brontornis is called "bronto birb" and the Glyptodon is called "glypto dong".
  • Nightmare Fuel: Seriously, all the predatory animals qualify (Andrewsarchus, Daeodon, Sarkastodon, Thylacoleo, Dinocrocuta, Hyaenodon, Cryolophosaurus and Yutyrannus) but special mention goes to both Andrewsarchus and Yutyrannus. They are both lightning fast and highly durable enemies that will chase you down relentlessly until they catch and kill you. Assuming you somehow don't consider even them scary enough, there is also the mod which adds the Dry Nodus Lake Wendigo in your game.
  • Sequel Difficulty Spike: Carnivores: Far North is a significantly more challenging video game mod than its official prequels.
