• Uncertain Audience: The first pilot, Back in Action, likely didn't get picked up for this reason. It features superheroes, which are a popular genre of entertainment for children, and was aired on the What A Cartoon! Show, during a period, "The Big Pick", where viewers got to vote on what show would become a full series, but the bulk of the jokes, such as the main plot being kickstarted by Captain Sturdy's pension being moved up until he's 70 and the general commentary of the Union of Super Heroes being ineffectual due to treating superheroics more like a business would resonate better with older viewers. This is probably why the second pilot, The Originals, was on [adult swim].
