- Depending on the Writer: Brian’s post-Jaspers relationship with alcohol. Excalibur started with a grief-stricken Brian, still traumatised from his own resurrection, mourning his sister and the X-Men after their supposed death, and getting very drunk. Some other writers have suggested that he has a more general problem with alcohol (sometimes, given his Captain Geographic status, in ways perceived as a wider Take That! to British culture). Paul Cornell made a point of addressing and rebutting this in the MI13 series.
