• Hilarious in Hindsight: This would hardly be the last time a boy and tiger were lost at sea. (While the book came out four years before the fic, it only really became famous when The Film of the Book came out in 2012.)
• Moral Event Horizon: Rupert kept his crew in line by attaching shock collars to them and if they mess up he would electrocute them while trapping them in stasis.
