- Audience-Alienating Era: While their early experimental and later synth phases were very influential, their house phase (headed by only Richard H Kirk) is considered to be pretty bad among fans.
- Broken Base: There's a slight bit of a split amongst fans on the band's material that came out after Chris Watson left, with some feeling that it got too poppy, while others thought they got even better.
- Crosses the Line Twice: The title of the song "Why Kill Time (When You Can Kill Yourself?)".
- Signature Song: "Nag Nag Nag" overall; "Sensoria" and/or "I Want You" for their EBM/Synth-Pop era.
- Something Something Leonard Bernstein: A majority of their music, including but not limited to "Nag Nag Nag", "Sensoria", "Just Fascination", "24-24"...a lot of The Crackdown, really. However, most of their earlier songs can be transcribed if you end up listening to their demo tapes (which have audible vocals).
- Nightmare Fuel: Much of their output is nightmarish, as expected from one of the pioneers of Industrial Music.
