- Retroactive Recognition: "Who Killed the Beauty Queen" has Denise Richards in the title role as well as a pre-Friends Jennifer Aniston.
- If you're a fan of Spelling shows, you'll recognize a lot of the guest actors from the revival, including about half the original cast of Melrose Place.
- So Bad, It's Good: The deliberately awful musical number that Capt. Burke and fellow cops (including Sgt. Ames) rehearse briefly at the beginning and in full at the end of "Who Killed The Card?", with guess who singing solo and the cops demonstrating an impressive lack of rhythm. In fairness, it should be noted that Gene Barry later starred in the musical version of La Cage Aux Folles on stage. But he also recorded a vocal version of the Burke's Law theme. "Hey lover, let's make the scene/I've got a crazy hi-fi in my limousine..."
- Hilarious in Hindsight: In "Who Killed Supersleuth?", Zsa Zsa Gabor's character ALMOST slaps Burke. He grabs her hand before it can make contact with his face.
- One-Scene Wonder: The show loves featuring over-the-top Large Ham suspects who only appear in a handful of scenes, and sometimes even just one. Notable examples include a Corrupt Corporate Executive (played by Jim Backus of Gilligan's Island) who's very insistent on offering Burke snacks as he's being questioned, and a sportswriter who mimes competing in a horse race to mentally prepare himself to report on one.
