• Franchise Original Sin: This episode became a pretty good preliminary glimpse of Buffy's reaction to intense trauma during Seasons Six and Seven (after she was pulled out of Heaven). A pair of seasons that are divisive for many fans, to say the least, even declared an Audience-Alienating Era by some, and Buffy's attitude is one of the big reasons why.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Buffy tells Angel that girls don't think stalking is sexy. Apparently, Buffy is very atypical. And forgetting her own romantic history of indeed finding Angel's stalking sexy.
• Memetic Mutation: "Bitca" is a popular substitute for "bitch" in the fandom.
• Narm: "I will grind you into a stick paste, just before I smash in your face!"
