YMMV / Breaking Bad S5 E11: "Confessions"

Go To

  • Everyone Is Jesus in Purgatory: One reddit user decided to take this up to eleven by trying to find tongue-in-cheek symbolism for every item in the restaurant scene.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • Saul's line "Ugh. Jesus. It's always the desert." can become more than a funny one-liner after watching the Better Call Saul episodes Better Call Saul S 1 E 2 Mijo and Better Call Saul S5 E8: "Bagman" and realizing there's an exceptionally good reason Saul hates deserts.
    • When preparing Jesse to meet with the Disappearer, Saul throws in Florida as a suggestion for a place for Jesse to start anew. What seems like an innocuous suggestion becomes outright painful after Better Call Saul reveals that Florida is where Kim Wexler went to disassociate from her old life, which is what caused Jimmy to become Saul permanently in the first place.
    • Also, there is his line, "I didn't want any of this!" to an emotionally distraught Jesse. Even worse when you've watched Better Call Saul. It's like it's not Saul talking, it's Jimmy.
