• Values Dissonance: The whole Maligned Mixed Marriage subplot at the end of the book where God's people must now divorce the wives they took from other nations or incur His wrath. While interracial marriage is still a somewhat touchy subject in many parts of the world most modern societies are far more accepting of it and would probably see the mass divorce ritual as being needlessly cruel. The concern here is not racial purity, but religious, to protect against idolatry.
