  • Archive Binge: With the comic being posted on Twitter, anyone can access any part of it at any time.note  And considering it’s a webcomic, well, let’s just say there’s a reason that webcomics are the first thing mentioned on this trope’s page.

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Was William just manipulating Phil, or was there part of him that genuinely cared for him?
  • Draco in Leather Pants: Happens to William quite a lot. People really want Dave Miller to be his own person, huh?

  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Ivy Boseman. Despite her little screentime, her gothic aesthetic has garnered her a lot of fans—earning her the win in “best background character” poll held in early 2022, with almost half the votes.

  • Growing the Beard: Most fans consider the Bite of ‘83 to be the moment the series really picks up, and the story and artwork to become much more serious following it.

  • Just Here for Godzilla: A lot of fans began reading only after seeing people post about Jeremy and Michael as a couple.

  • LGBT Fanbase: This makes sense, as the creators and most of the cast are LGBT.

  • One True Pairing: Jeremy and Michael.

  • Ships That Pass in the Night: Sunny and Ivy have garnered a small fanbase of shippers, likely due to fans finding both characters attractive and thinking Sunny deserved a better partner.
    • It could also stem from the fact that they did interact in the canon roleswap AU released for April fools 2021—in which they (along with Emilie) ran Freddy’s together, and Ivy knew all about Sunny’s crimes, and not only didn’t care, but supported her in it.

  • Unfortunate Character Design: Charlie’s initial design had green hair and horns, intending to look demonic. Unfortunately, this conjured up some unintentional anti-semitic imagery. Fortunately, when this was brought to the creators’ attention, they changed Charlie’s design completely, and retconned it so that she’s considered to have always looked completely human.
