- Event-Obscuring Camera: Releases of the game other than the Japanese version (where camera angles are fixed) have typical third-person shooter camera controls. However, this leads to the camera sometimes getting stuck in awkward positions, and also makes some segments near the end that require precision movements more difficult than need be.
- Scrappy Mechanic: The Nephilim follows you around everywhere. From a story viewpoint it makes perfect sense, but from a gameplay perspective, having a big blue naked character that's brightly luminous and flying around you constantly is a huge distraction when fighting monsters. Her only saving grace is she doesn't scream "Hey! Listen!" at you like an Annoying Video Game Helper.
