• Nausea Fuel: When Fetechou licks the wounds on Naerim's leg, he ends up eating her scab too. She's grossed out, herself, until he makes a joke about it.
• Nightmare Fuel: As goofy as the story can be, the flashback scenes of Fetechou's past are surprisingly dark. One of them in particular shows his life shortly after becoming a vampire, where an unsuspecting maid is sent up to his room with food and instructed to watch him until he's had his "meal". Fetechou, knowing what meal he's really supposed to eat, screams at her to get out, but Laszlo comes in and snaps her neck with that same sleepy-eyed smile he always wears in the comic.

• Woolseyism: The Tapas translation of the series has the bullies give Naerim the derogatory nickname Wig, short for "witch girl," but the term wig can be seen as silly, since it can also refer to artificial hair. The Ize Press translation opts for the term "skitch," short for "skinny-ass witch," which feels more pejorative than how Wig sounds.
