- Broken Base: Version 21. Either you love it because it killed the maps that slowed down development times, or you hate it because it killed the only "good" thing about Blockland. Shaders aren't even compatible with Intel, meaning to some users, the only good change about V21 is gamemodes.
- Demonic Spiders: Of the default bots, sharks. They swim faster than you can row a boat, have a lot of HP, can effectively one-hit-kill you by grabbing you in their jaws, and they never stop trying to kill you. They're pretty imposing in any minigame or gamemode with a lot of water, but nowhere is this truer than Pirate DM, where they're everywhere, the weapons kind of suck, and the only way to get between islands is by rowboat.
- Fandom Rivalry: Some players are under the delusion that Blockland is at some kind of war with Roblox.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: The V21 update removed maps in favor of shaders and gamemodes. This was announced in advance. To make things worse, shaders are broken on Intel.
