  • Character Tiers: Not exactly in terms of characters, but it is agreed upon that some starting drop pod locations are better than others. Beta is considered a high tier drop pod location thanks to its easy access to water (making it easier to travel), close proximity to two islands (the Mushroom Island, which can serve as an effective safe zone once cleaned, and the Eerie island, which has great materials and is where you start Blood Magic)
  • Cult Classic: Not the most well-known modpack, but players of this generally regard it very highly for the way it implements the mods in a custom-built map and good lore.
  • Demonic Spiders: Pretty much any custom mob.
    • Tainted Hunters are probably going to be the first Custom Mob you face. Unlike the regular tainted animals, they possess a dangerous ranged attack with pinpoint aim. However, unlike the Taintacles, Tainted Hunters will actively chase you, making them hard to escape from. They're also fairly durable, meaning you'll likely take a lot of damage from one while trying to kill others. Oh, and unlike most other custom mobs, they can be found just about anywhere.
    • Tainted Snipers will likely be the bane of your existence in the Floating City. They are often placed in inconvenient spots and pack a punch with their crossbows.
    • Tainted Arcanists are basically Bosses in Mook Clothing. Unlike how they seem to be, they are very durable and have tremendous regeneration. Their main attack is a stream of magic shots which cover the area in front of them, making them hard to engage.
  • Funny Moments: In the Floating City, you can find a box. Inside, there's another box... and another box... and another box... then a satchel.... then another satchel inside the satchel... all adding up to seven boxes and six satchels. The loot you get at the end is nice, however.
    • When you find your first Mystical Flower, you can take them to the Xenobiologist... who does not even care about them. The quest reward is even "Brysen doesn't care". The next quest for Botania progression involves the Paranormalist needing some methods of getting to the Xenobiologist's scanner, ranging from providing tools to hack their way in or break and enter their area, to more ridiculous things like distracting them with slimes or wearing a copy of the captain's head.
    • You can also send the Xenobiologist a sample of Mind Spiders for autopsy. That is, the spiders you hallucinate when you're Warped. You're trying to make her autopsy your hallucinations. You lose reputation.
  • Goddamned Bats: Taintacles have a lot of range and hit hard with a ranged attack that is very hard to avoid. What makes them this trope rather than Demonic Spiders is that they are immobile, making them fairly easy to avoid on their own. When you are also facing other enemies, though...
  • Self-Imposed Challenge: One of the options you have for your starting location is at the bottom of the ocean.
    • Speedrunning goals accepted by the community at present are "clean the continent (glitched)", "clean the continent (glitchless)", "steal the airship from the Floating City", " give Xillith a translator", and " give Xillith a cake".
  • That One Level: The Floating City. There are enemies everywhere, including Taintacles and the infamous Tainted Snipers. It is also very large and fairly hard to navigate. In the center? You meet the Tainted Hero.
    • A smaller example would likely be the frozen cave in the Iceberg. Has SEVERAL Bosses in Mook Clothing: A Tainted Thaumaturge and their strong fireballs that set you on fire, Tainted Botanists which are essentially Stuff Blowing Up personified, and some Tainted Arcanists as stated above.
