- Ensemble Dark Horse: From the books, several colorful recurring secondary characters are highly popular;
- Rupert Baxter, Lord Emsworth's (occasional) secretary, whose overzealous mismatched interactions with Lord Emsworth (eventually to Sitcom Arch-Nemesis levels) provide for some very funny scenarios.
- Monica Simmons, who who holds the distinction of being one of the few non-consecutive returning pig-keepers in the books.
- The repulsive private detective (and former editor of Society Spice), Percy Pilbeam, he of the marcelled hair, small moustache, and even smaller conscience.
- Ronnie Fish and his fiancee Sue Brown, with their two-book arc, are among the series' more memorable couples.
- Ronnie's mother, Lady Julia Fish, both a Grande Dame and a particularly devastating Deadpan Snarker
- Lord Emsworth's Brainless Beauty niece Veronica and her mother, who is always being mistaken for a cook.
- Lord Emsworth's mischievous grandson George has those who find him entertaining.
- Ashe and Joan, the main couple of the first book are fondly regarded for being decently developed and resourceful, even though they never appear again in the series.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Summer Lightning has a throwaway reference to an actress named Sally Fields.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: In the TV series, Amazonian Beauty Monica Simmons is one of the better-acted of Freddie's love interests, was a book character as well, has some nice chemistry with Freddie and decent scenes with Lord Emsworth, is the niece of Emsworth's rival (she agrees that he's a stinker) and seems to depart with the promise of returning but is never even mentioned in the second season.
- This Is Your Premise on Drugs: Actor Timothy Spall described the Blandings TV series as "Downton Abbey on some kind of early cocaine."
