• Awesome Music: The trailer is set to a phenomenal cover of "In the Air Tonight".
• California Doubling: Set in the United States, shot in Australia. They didn't go to exceptional lengths to hide it, either: The garbage truck Dusty commandeers at one point was evidently sourced locally, since it has the driver's seat and steering wheel on the right-hand side.
• Critical Dissonance: There's an enormous gap on Rotten Tomatoes, where the critical score is an abysmal 11%, but the audience one is that nearly tenfold (82%).
• It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: A big complaint made by critics that likely contributed to the film's box office failure is the fact that after a decade-long string of Liam Neeson action thrillers, the only remarkable thing about Blacklight is that "it's another one". One could easily make the case that the reason audiences didn't see it in theatres is that considering the likes of Honest Thief and The Marksman, as well as the upcoming Memory (2022) to be released a mere two months later, many audience members didn't even realize they were supposed to be different movies.
