YMMV / Blackadder S 1 E 1 The Foretelling

• Genius Bonus: Edmund, Percy and Baldrick's conversation about Edmund being very "witty" makes a lot more sense if you know "wit" was an Elizabethan euphemism for penis, and Edmund's enormous codpiece makes him VERY witty indeed!
• Harsher in Hindsight: The episode opens with a darkly comic depiction of the Battle of Bosworth Field and even has a scene where Edmund takes one look at the fighting and decides to run away, all played for laughs. The final episode also deals with war but plays it completely straight, and this time Blackadder doesn't get away.
• One-Scene Wonder: Peter Cook as Richard III.
