• Vindicated by History: Back when it was first released, Black Sabbath was blasted by critics as being sloppy and unfocused, with comparisons being made to Cream, of all bands. However, in retrospect, modern critics love the album for not only its dark and hopeless tone, but also for helping to pioneer the doom metal genre.
