• Older Than They Think: Contrary to popular belief, this ride was not the first mine train roller coaster. The honor actually belongs to Runaway Mine Train at Six Flags Over Texas, which opened in 1966; 13 years before BTMR did.
• Special Effects Failure: Paris was subject to one of these in 2011 when one of the falling rocks on the third lift hill dislodged, injuring several park guests. As a result, the simulated earthquake on all versions of the ride was disabled. This is how the Paris version lasted until the 2016 refurbishment, when the third lift hill was redone as a blasting tunnel, much like the California version.
