  • Awesome Moments:
    • When Mankind goes through that cage, and onto that table. They're two of the most exhilarating moments for wrestling fans, even if they horribly shocked his wife.
  • Heartwarming in Hindsight: Jake Roberts is doing much, much better now; he's clean, healthy, happy, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and back on national television as a manager in All Elite Wrestling. Mick Foley is still doing well for himself too, as is his family. And Terry Funk is still wrestling.
    • As of 2023 however Funk has died.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • Terry Funk's daughter getting married.
      • His retirement match.
    • Jake Roberts' brief affectionate moments with his daughter.
      • As of 2016, Jake is now in regular contact with his daughter, Brandy, and the rest of his children and grandchildren since getting sober.
    • Mick Foley and his wife and kids. All of those moments.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: The current climate of concussion awareness in the sports world makes Mick Foley's unprotected chair shots to the head all the more horrific.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Mick is worried his kids were traumatized by the Rumble match with The Rock; flash-forward 17 years and Noelle is training to be a wrestler while Dewey works as a WWE writer's assistant.
  • Memetic Mutation: The Dennis Stamp scene, particularly "I'm not booked" and him lightly jumping on the trampoline in his underwear holding two five pound dumbbells.
    • "HE'S GONNA PUKE!"
  • No Such Thing as Bad Publicity: Roland Alexander's portrayal in the film was not flattering at all, but aspiring wrestlers still flock to APW. During an interview with Colt Cabana, Alexander said he should probably thank Blaustein for the exposure.
    • Dennis Stamp became a bit of a hit in the convention circuit after the film came out.
  • Squick:
    • LOTS of blood and injuries all around.
      • Particularly a MASSIVE cut on Foley's head after the "I Quit" match.
  • Tearjerker:
    • Jake's interactions with his daughter, where he's totally honest about himself and even breaks down himself.
    • The reaction shots of Mick Foley's wife and kids towards the end as he takes yet more dangerous bumps, this time from his friend The Rock. Made worse by his assurances beforehand that The Rock wouldn't do anything to hurt Daddy... sure didn't look like it to us (and them). Intercut are shots of the family having fun, set to "Stand By Me", only increasing the effect.
      • "I WANT DADDY!" Holy crap.
      • A sudden, sharp one when Barry brings by the footage of the above-mentioned reaction shots, a sort of Heel Realization for Mick, "I don't feel like such a good Dad anymore."
    • Just before the end credits, a caption comes up informing the viewer of the tragic accident that befell Darrin Drozdov during his match with D'lo Brown in which a botched powerbomb left him paralyzed. This happened three weeks after the movie was finished. A particularly sad piece of the caption says "He is currently in physical rehabilitation and hopes to one day walk again". Almost twenty-four years later, he never regained the use of his legs before passing away.
