YMMV / Beware Princess Elizabeth

• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: There is a rather random sequence where Anne of Cleves's lady in waiting Lady Cecily disguises herself as a wandering minstrel and plays badly for Elizabeth - before giving her a message from Anne.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Kat Ashley spends most of the middle of the book Out of Focus but she's very entertaining whenever she's around.
• Tear Jerker:
  • The news of Lady Jane Grey being executed, especially since everyone was convinced Mary would spare her. It's said that she spent her last hours writing letters to her family.
  • When Elizabeth is brought to the Tower of London, she realises she is being brought through the same gate her mother was before her execution. She begs the guards to bring her through another gate, but they refuse.
