- Cult Classic: Much like Sanjo & Inada's previous series, Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. In Beet's case, it's considered an interesting take of humans versus demons.
- Padding: All over the place in the anime, which featured multiple filler arcs and stretched out single chapters to whole episodes where very little happens.
- Wangst: Kissu. Played for Comedy, as he tends to cry pathetically for extended periods.
