For the Madonna album
- Overshadowed by Controversy: Or, more specifically, overshadowed by the controversy surrounding its respective artist at the time. As this Billboard retrospective explains.
- Sampled Up: Nellee Hooper would reuse the breathy scatting that appeared in "Bedtime Story" in a remix of Garbage's "#1 Crush".
Film
- Awesome Music: The musical pitch Kendall performs for a Broadway-themed hotel (especially the extended version found in the deleted scenes montage) is actually pretty catchy, despite the other characters' negative reactions to it.
- Ensemble Dark Horse:
- Kendall (Guy Pearce) may be a duplicitious bully and Professional Butt-Kisser, but most fans agree that he is one of the more consistently funny characters in the movie and has a pretty good singing voice that makes him pretty popular in a Love to Hate way.
- Violet has fairly few scenes and is mostly just a Romantic False Lead, but some funny Paris Hilton Expy moments, her surprisingly tender scene babysitting the kids, and her Ms. Fanservice appearence make her one of the better-liked characters.
