• Moment of Awesome: On one Season 2 episode, the two contestants successfully challenged all four geeks each winning two medals.
• Replacement Scrappy:
  • Some saw Blaine Capatch as one, often being too hammy and needlessly condescending to the contestants.
  • Both replacement Music Geeks to Andy Zax, in part because Zax was already well regarded among real music geeks for his work as a historian and producer (For instance, he's often credited for helping popularize the work of late folk singer Judee Sill through a CD reissue series he worked on). Particular ire was aimed at Michael Farmer, who repeatedly showed himself less knowledgeable about music than the contestants, yet maintained the same level of snarky superiority that the other geeks did.
