- Awesome Music:
- The theme song is a really inspirational-sounding bit of early 80s synth-rock.
- For that matter, the entire score by Kevin Peek and Eastern Orbit is a glorious mix of badass prog-rock, atmospheric ambient passages, and the occasional orchestral section, similar in style to Toto's soundtrack to Dune.
- Serial Numbers Filed Off: The film's premise clearly owes a great deal to that of Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, with its Post-Peak Oil setting, lone wanderer protagonist, a Big Badass Rig, and story involving a conflict between a small democratic community and a ruthless warlord. However, the director claims he conceived the story at least a year before The Road Warrior hit theatres, so it might actually be a case of Older Than They Think.
- So Okay, It's Average: If seen as its own film rather than as a Mad Max clone, it's a decent if rather unremarkable post-apocalyptic flick, with some nice stunt work and cinematography and a kick-ass score.
