• Angst? What Angst?: Sela took her father's murder surprisingly well. It's kinda creepy, even.
• Awesome Music: Stimulant, which plays during some of the best moments in the series, including the part were Dan finally starts using his unique style.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Miyuki. An absolute cutie that's also a Wrench Wench and has some nice basketballs that bounce, on top of being a rare instance of black representation in anime? 4chan was instantly sold on her, and so were apparently viewers on other anime forums. And of course the Demoted to Extra status she suffered in the second half of the show in favor of Rouge caused outrage.
• Fan Nickname: Boobsquash.
• Les Yay: The Eclipse Girls showering together in episode 23.
  • Much earlier on, when there's a bar scene where Haruka and Sela share a long Held Gaze shifting between the two of them, and ending on a closeup of Haruka's lips curving in a malicious smile... We later learn that the two of them set up a Distracted by the Sexy plot.
• The Scrappy: Rouge for a lot of reasons, most notably her shoving fan-favorite Miyuki to the background, her being the focus of several episodes in the form of a brainwashing arc that went nowhere and her romantic arc with Dan seriously reeking of a rip-off of the Macross "protagonist dates Idol Singer" plotline that's been done one time too many (besides the usual Romantic Plot Tumor trappings). Even Thomas Romain spoke out against the character, claiming she was never really meant to be anything more than one of Dan's friends and that the romance arc apparently got tacked on in the Retool of the show from a "fighting injustice" type of show to the "saving the world" plot it underwent in it's second half.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Rouge's brainwashing. Quite a few of the viewers think that this could've been a massive rerailing moment that would've brought the anime back towards its' initial plot of segregation and mistreatment - by making the Moon government an actual threat. Many think that with this fixed and the "saving the world by balling" plot replaced with one final face-off to actually win Coco's treatment, the anime could've actually become a classic.
