- Dear Negative Reader: One is inserted immediately after Eden's Establishing Character Moment to address the concerns of Moral Guardians who might be upset about Barbie Playing Against Type. Kelly interrupts to ask why Barbie is telling a story about someone so mean, and Barbie explains that it's still possible to learn good lessons from bad people.
- Nightmare Fuel:
- When Aunt Marie stands at the front door, angrily demanding, "Where... is... EDEN!?", it can strike fear to any child who has to hear the same tone of voice when a parent/guardian is angry at them, which Eden accurately demonstrates.
- In the Bad Future, the orphanage that Catherine has been helping out closes down, with the building itself abandoned and devoid of life and warmth. Apart from Scrooge himself, Tiny Tim is the only child to die in the original Christmas Carol's Bad Future, but here, several orphaned children are left to an uncertain doom, forced to become street urchins at best. It's the bleakest fate that a Barbie movie adaptation has come close to having. Doubles as Tear Jerker.
- Tear Jerker: When Eden is taken to the past, she and the Spirit of Christmas Past are happily watching young Eden celebrate Christmas with Catherine's family, when Eden suddenly remembers how this ended and begins begging the Spirit to let them leave now, going from uncomfortable to terrified. Eden's aunt Marie, having realized she'd sneaked out, starts hammering on the door and shouting for Eden, with both past and present Eden cowering. Just as Marie bursts in, the Spirit finally takes them back to the present, apologizing to Eden for not realizing. Eden sits on her bed forlornly, recalling that Marie screamed at everyone for a long time, humiliating Eden, then forced her to go home and never let her go round again.
