YMMV / Band-Maid

Go To

  • Awesome Music: Hell yes. Their whole music consists of awesome singing, dual-shred guitars, and wicked solos.
  • Epic Riff: Every song features at least one.
  • Friendly Fandoms: With Lovebites, another all-female Japanese band on the hard rock/metal spectrum, as well as other Japanese hard rock and metal girl bands (Aldious, Bridear, Mary's Blood, Nemophila, etc)
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: They have a surprisingly large fanbase outside Japan, which prompted them to perform worldwide for the first time in 2016. It was this attention that got Japanese media to take notice of the band, emphasizing the multi-million foreign views on the Thrill video at the time.
    • The album CONQUEROR hit top 10 "rock" and "new release" charts on streaming sites in North America and Europe.
    • As noted on the main page, the heavily advertised (to fans) "Online Okyu-ji" in December 2020 and February 2021 were each viewed by paying Masters & Princesses in over 60 different countries.
  • Narm Charm: They dress like maids and perform rock music. If it wasn't good rock, this wouldn't have worked.
  • Quirky Work: Good luck trying to explain an all-female band who dress as maids and play extremely hard rock to someone not familiar with Japanese music.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Saiki worked as a a dancer as well as singing and she had a bit part in a May J video "May J. x 2BEDROOM/Garden" on Youtube. Her appearances in that video are so brief that they're easy to miss, with her most prominent being at 2:22 (the girl with short hair and crooked teeth).
