YMMV / Balancing My Support Magic and Summoning Magic in a Different World

  • Nightmare Fuel: The light novel. Everything about this story is horrifying if you think about it too long.
    • The protagonist was so cornered by a full-school-year's worth of bullying so horrific it can't be described that he was luring the ringleader to a pit-trap with sharpened bamboo poles at the bottom, and a couple of gallons of gasoline that he was going to pour on the guy's head, just to make sure. If not for that, he'd have no way to deal with the orc invasion when the entire mountain where his school, and the neighboring middle-school, reside.
    • The school where this takes place was built on a mountain, hours away, on foot from the nearest town, no phones, not internet, no television or radio, no paved roads, and barely any running water, with the students all but locked into the school campus because whoever decided to build the school never took into account the dangers of the local fauna until after the school was built and a student was gored by a boar.
    • The school had no government inspector or oversight, allowing the director to run the place as his own private fief-dom, and encouraging his son to to the same, to the point that the teachers were complicit in said son's bullying upon the protagonist, or whoever drew his ire, for any reason, real or imagined, out of fear for their own lives, since the director smuggled in a gun, and let his boy know where it is, with lots, and lots of ammunition.
    • Despite this school supposedly being an elite academy, several of the students were dumped there by their parents because the parents didn't want anything to do with them, and all these students were law-abiding before getting there. The high-school became a concentration camp thanks to the director and his son, and of course, nobody could leave without the director's say-so.
    • An entire mountain disappears from existence and winds up on an alien world, and within minutes, armies of hostile beings descend upon both the high-school, and middle-school, raping and killing as they go. Out of the 700 or so total population, there's a confirmed survivor count of 30! The high-school reports 200 of their population, but that's unconfirmed.
    • When the protagonist manages to get in touch with the natives, he finds the situation is so dire, they are willing to use their civilians as bait to lure the monsters into a city that they intend to destroy via explosion, flood, or some other massive disaster, just to thin the monsters' numbers!
    • The monsters are converting this alien world into their home, making the places they conquer uninhabitable, and bringing in beasts so horrific, they're referred to as The Legions of Hell.
    • The continent this occurs on was land reclaimed from the bottom of the ocean by a god, and if 3 of the 5 magic pillars holding it aloft fail, the continent will sink again, destroying all land on the planet! AND it seems the monsters want that to happen!
    • As horrific as all this sounds, there are traitors among the natives calling themselves "The Pacifists" that side with the monsters and attack their friends, family, countrymen, with lethal force in terrorist attacks!
