YMMV / Badfinger

Go To

  • Covered Up:
    • Did you know "Without You" was a Badfinger song (from No Dice)? Didn't think so. Harry Nilsson had a #1 hit with his version in 1972 (he said he heard the Badfinger version at a party and initially assumed it was an obscure Beatles song he'd never heard before), Mariah Carey also had a huge hit with it in 1994, and there are hundreds of other covers.
    • In turn, although their version of "Come and Get It" was the first to be released, Paul McCartney wrote and demoed it while a member of The Beatles. McCartney's demo was eventually released as a Beatles recording on Anthology 3, although he performed all the instruments and vocals himself.
  • First Installment Wins: Some fans prefer the Pete Ham era, while others like the 1979-81 era band.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • After Pete Ham's death in 1975, Bob Jackson wrote a song called I Won't Forget You. It is arguably a very touching tribute to Ham. Evans' suicide in 1983 makes this song also Harsher in Hindsight.
    • The band's story in general, which is in the running for the most tragic in pop music history.
