• Growing the Beard: This episode is often cited as the point where the show starts really growing into its best self after the awkward first few. It helps that it was the first script written with a good idea of what the actors were capable of.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: At the end of the episode, as an example of Earth religions, Sinclair introduces to the ambassadors a succession of people, each representing one of Earth's numerous faiths. The first person he introduces is "Mr. Harris, an atheist." Over a decade after the episode airs, Sam Harris makes a name for himself as one of the "four horsemen" of the New Atheist movement.
• Narm: Sinclair introducing representatives from Earth's various religions is touching...but then the line keeps going. And going. And going...
