• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • In Assault on Pleasant Hill Omega #1, Steve Rogers rallies his fellow heroes with an inspirational speech, saying that they've spent too much time at each other's throats, and need to stop fighting amongst themselves and get back to doing what they do best: fighting evil and saving lives. Not long after this, Civil War II began, once again depicting hero going against hero. Not helped by it being coupled with the below fact, as the HYDRA Steve was actually helping to fan the flames of the events of Civil War II.
  • Then Secret Empire happened just after. And were fans not pleased. For that matter, Steve's "He's Back!" moment is marred by the fact he really wasn't as it was the start of the HYDRA Cap arc that culminated in Secret Empire, which marked the true return of Steve as Captain America.
• Replacement Scrappy: Avril Kincaid as the new Quasar. Not only are Wendell's fans upset that he's not donning the bands again for... reasons, but Phyla-Vell fans are pissed that she isn't coming back. Not helping matters is the fact that Marvel released a promo about the return of a character, with a symbol that people saw as a streamlined Nova or Quasar symbol, so they assumed it would feature the return of either Richard Rider, Wendell Vaughn or Phyla-Vell, and instead get a new character taking up an old codename.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The first encounter between Kamala Khan (a noted Marvel fangirl) and Deadpool (a noted smasher of everything fourth-wally) is relegated to a single panel with the Merc with a Mouth tied up by Kamala.
